Cameron Brate: “I think we’re gonna surprise some people this year.”

Cameron Brate was in London at the NFL Academy acting as an ambassador for the game against the Panthers in October. While there, he joined Nate Burleson of the NFL’s Total Access to talk about this season’s expectations.

The veteran tight end went on to say that with having a new coach in the building there are lots of changes. He feels that Bruce Arians had done a great job instilling his identity as the head coach and what he expects from the team. Arians is a tell it like it is kind of coach, and that is appreciated by all.

Cameron Brate went on to say how the last few seasons the team has been pretty close, but just could not get to that next step. He went on to say that he can’t wait to get the season started and is really excited to be heading to London this October.

“I think this is going to be a really big year for us.” – Cameron Brate.

Nate Burleson asked the question, “Why should we not write off the Bucs as contenders for the Super Bowl?” Brate replied, “Because you never know what’s going to happen, man! Look at the Eagles a couple of years ago man, everyone was saying they weren’t going to be good, picked last in the division, they were 6-10 the year before they won the Super Bowl, so I think that’s what’s cool about the NFL, compared to all the other sports leagues, there’s no Golden State Warriors, I guess the Patriots, but I mean everyone’s got a chance in the NFL. Last year was last year. We have really good talent. I just really think there’s so much excitement down in Tampa, I think we are going to surprise some people this year.”

Cameron Brate played injured last season and had surgery in the offseason to correct a torn labrum. Now that he is in tip-top shape and will be ready for training camp in the next few weeks, things are looking great for Brate and the sky’s the limit.
