On March 2, 1977, as a featured comic, Jay Leno made his first appearance on “The Tonight Show.” “Good Times,” “Fun With Dick and Jane,” “Laverne & Shirley,” “Alice,” “One Day at a Time,” and “American Hot Wax” were among the films and television shows in which Leno starred in minor roles during the 1970s. He’s also made multiple appearances as a featured comedian on “Late Night with David Letterman.”
