Jamell Demons, a.k.a. YNW Melly, was born and reared in Gifford, Florida, by a single mother named Jamie Demons-King. He is unaware of who his father is, though. However, Donte “The Gift” Taylor, a different rapper, asserted that he is the father of YNW Melly. When she became pregnant with Jamell Demons at the age of 14, she relocated to a less affluent area of Gifford. She found it difficult to pay for necessities there. When he was a youngster, he later joined the Bloods gang and, at the age of 15, released his first song on SoundCloud.
Demons began using the alias YNW Melly in 2016 and released his debut album, Collect Call, the following year. It included a number of well-known performers, including Lil B and John Wicks. Later, he dropped another track called Virtual and wrote three songs back-to-back that received 26 million, 11 million, and 16 million views on YouTube in the first week of January.
I Am You, a mixtape by Demons that was released in the middle of 2018, debuted at number 192 on the Billboard 200 in 2019. He partnered with Fredo Bang and Kanye West and kept releasing song after song. One of Cole Bennett’s tracks starring West was directed by Lyrical Lemonade.
Later in the year, in 2019, Demons released another debut album titled Melly vs. Melvin, which became their highest-charting album after peaking at number eight on the Billboard 200. Numerous tracks were included on the album, including 223, whose song peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100. On March 13, 2020, Demons created a remix of his song Suicidal, which quickly rose to the top of the year’s dance charts. Later, it reached its peak on the Billboard Hot 100 at position 20.

YNW Melly Jail: Murder Charges
YNW Melly was detained in 2015 on three counts of aggravated assault: employing a lethal weapon, shooting three people in the vicinity of Vero Beach High School, and discharging a gun in public. He was imprisoned for a year for this. But after receiving his sentence, he went back home. But he never changed, and on June 30, 2018, he was once more taken into custody for having marijuana, a weapon, or ammunition. He was once more facing incarceration for marijuana possession a year later. Despite often encountering this, Melly committed a new offense. His shooting of his close pals YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser led to his imprisonment.
He even attempted to stage the event so that it appeared to be a drive-by shooting. Demons and Henry were ultimately found to be the perpetrators of this crime following an extensive investigation. They did, however, postpone the trial until June 6, 2022, for a variety of reasons. However, once the trial was halted, Demon’s team asked for a quick trial to start in the following 175 days. The jury declared earlier this year that if Demons is found guilty, he will not be executed. However, a different judge overturned the ruling that made him eligible for the death penalty in November 2022. However, the question is: Where is YNW Melly right now?
