The Last of Us Season 2 Will Cover, The Characters, and Everything Else You Need to Know?

Already, as season one of The Last of Us draws to a close, it is abundantly evident that the show is a smashing success. The show is based on a popular board game, and it was created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, who have seen their series become one of HBO’s most successful shows ever.

According to Variety, the audience of Episode 3, which starred Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett, increased by 12 percent over the viewership of Episode 2, and has continued to rise throughout successive episodes. The Internet is awash with gushing reviews of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie from both longtime players and newcomers to the series.

On January 27th, HBO confirmed the second season order for The Last of Us. We don’t know much about Season 2 of The Last of Us just yet, because we’re still in the first part of the story. Nonetheless, the TV Guide will reveal every information regarding the following episode.

The Last of Us Season 2 Latest News

By the end of February, Pedro Pascal dropped some major information on the filming of Season 2. The actor was asked by Collider when production on the second season would begin on HBO. The Last of Us Season 2 may start filming this year, according to him, though he doesn’t claim to be an expert on the subject. Based on that tidbit, we may estimate that filming will wrap up in the spring of 2025, less than a year after the first season’s premiere.

The Last of Us Season 2 Release Date

Season 1 of The Last of Us is currently airing, therefore Season 2 won’t come out for a long. Once the first season concludes, we’ll be watching for updates on when production of the second season will begin. However, Pascal told Collider in late February 2022 that filming on Season 2 may begin in 2023, which would suggest a late 2024 or early 2025 release date is likely.

Naughty Dog launched the sequel to The Last of Us in 2020, more than seven years after the original game came out. The show was renewed, and Druckmann took to Twitter to express his excitement: “Part II —> HBO.” This means that the first season of The Last of Us will focus on the first game, and the second season will likely begin with events from the second game.

Craig Mazin, the show’s creator, and showrunner stated in January 2023 that the tale of The Last of Us Part 2 was too complex to be told in only one season. And he added, “But, I do not think this will continue forever. We don’t aim that high. Our goal is to do justice to the already-existing story by adapting it to a new medium.”
